Follow these Simple Steps for a Healthy Heart

Everyone knows that our heart is a muscle and that it only gets strong and healthy if one’s leading an active lifestyle with some sort of exercise involved. one does not need to be an athlete to begin a fitness program.

People who do not exercise are twice as likely to suffer from a heart disease as opposed to people who exercise.

Some tips to keep your heart healthy and happy,


Stop Smoking  – This is the nastiest habit to have and is one of the leading factors for heart disease.  Avoid it as much as possible.  You may feel some withdrawal symptoms initially in the form of a headache, loss of appetite, irritability but this is worth it as in the long run you will only gain.

Focus on your stomach  – it is a proven fact that having a heavy paunch raises your blood pressure and damages your heart. Hence incorporate some sort of physical activity to get rid of that unwanted fat around your belly .

Turn the music on – one of the best exercises that burns calories is dancing. It not only raises your heart rate but also makes your heart healthy and strong .

Eat Fish  –  As fish is enriched with Omega-3 fatty acids it reduces the risk of heart disease by a third or more.  Hence try and eat fish at least twice or thrice a week.

Stretch your muscles  – stretching relaxes you and decreases your stress to a great extent. stretching is positively related to heart rate variability which is an indicator of one’s heart being healthy.

Reduce your salt intake  – salt is one the leading contributors to cardiovascular disease. Processed food and restaurant food has a huge salt content . Hence try avoiding this as much as possible.

Move your ass – studies have proven that sitting for long hours can shorten one’s life regardless of ones body weight. sitting also has a negative effect on one’s fat and blood sugar levels. Hence it is advisable to take breaks and walk for a few minutes every now and then if one’s work demands sitting for long periods.

Get yourself checked  – Always keep your blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol and triglycerides level in check for a healthy and strong heart.
