Foods to Eat for a Healthy Gut

Our digestive tracts constantly extract water and nutrients from the food that passes through them, while fighting harmful bacteria and processing waste. So, what we eat determines how we feel, how flat our bellies are and how we look. So here are foods we need to include in our diets if we want a healthy, clean gut.

Aim to get between  20 to 25 grams of fibre a day because fibre is important for our digestive health and prevents constipation. So, try and include whole grains, spinach, cauliflower, carrots, apples, broccoli, beans, figs and pears in your diet.

Include  yogurt, bananas, garlic and onions in your diet, for a health digestive tract. This is because the good bacteria present in these fermented foods improve gut motility and sensation. It is also important to include carminative foods like cardamom, cinnamon, cumin, fennel, ginger, nutmeg and mint in your diet. This is because these foods prevent gas and help the digestive process.

Other fibre rich foods include  avocado, brown rice, dark chocolate, nuts, oatmeal, olive oil and seeds, which will not only sweep your digestive tract clean, but also help you get a flatter tummy.
REVOFIT TAKE: The human gut has a range of diverse bacteria, which keeps the body healthy and maintains a healthy digestive tract. But when we eat too much of processed food and sugar, we suppress this protective gastrointestinal army, so it is important to include probiotic-rich foods, which will help maintain a healthy gut and protect you from disease.
